A catch-all alias is an email address that will catch any incoming email sent to an invalid address on a domain. Instead of bouncing the message back to the sender, the message will be stored in the mailbox that is assigned as the catch-all account.

For any specific client that using an account as catch-all account,there a slight difference on setup inside both FilterMail and Ximplify as below:


FilterMail

All setting are as usual,only on 'Periodic user report' page,automatically activate for all recipients should be disable as per default.


Ximplify


To enable catch-alls for a domain in Ximplify, follow these directions:

1. Log in to Ximplify as the system administrator. (have to be made from RapidCloud side)
2. Click the desired domain to open the domain settings.
3. Switch the Catch-All Alias toggle to ON.


4. Click the Save button to apply the changes to assigning a Catch-all Alias to a Mailbox

5. Then you will need to create a catch-all alias for the domain and assign it to a specific mailbox. To do so, follow these steps:
6. Log in to Ximplify as the domain administrator. (postmaster@domainname)
7. Click the Settings icon, then select Domain Settings.
8. Select Accounts from the menu on the left. Now click the Aliases card at the top.

9. Click New to add the new catch-all alias.

10. Give the alias a name indicating this is a catch-all account, and fill in any other desired options.

11. Switch the Use as domain catch-all toggle to ON.

12. Click Save.
